An update of two halves..

I have a mixed update this month. Some good. Some...not so good - which is probably a metaphor for life at the moment!
I have had news from China and while yes, the books had printed, they found a number of quality issues with them. Which means they are being reprinted. While that means a delay of a few more weeks, I am glad they caught the issue before the books were shipped and its being corrected. Keeping fingers and toes crossed they should be shipped from China at the end of the month.
For the good news...the art prints have arrived. I had the lovely water colour illustrations made as vellum inserts, so you can place them wherever you want in the book, or pin them up :)
We now have everything waiting at the warehouse (all the paperbacks, art prints, stickers). We only need the hardcovers and the team at APlus can start packaging up and shipping out your pledges.
Thank you for your continued patience and hopefully in my June update I will have an estimated date that the hardcovers will arrive in the US.

Digital rewards are now available

Kia Ora everyone and thank you for your patience as I sort through a tangle of spreadsheets. With multiple ebooks and audio books to send to the right person, it has taken me a bit to figure everything out. I felt like I was doing advanced mathematics and there has been a bit of head scratching. But I got there!
Today I have embarked on deliverying all digital rewards. First up, here is the download link for the bonus scene from Oliver's POV.

For those of you who backed for either the LEAF & SCALE and/or the MANNERS & MONSTERS ebook bundles (each containing the first 3 books in the series) please check your inboxes. I have sent an email with the download link you need.
The only problem was those few of you who backed from an APPLE ID and who have not completed the survey. If I do not have an email address, I cannot send you your digital rewards. Update and the behind the scenes work starts

The work has started behind the scenes to bring this beautiful book to life. I have the ebook formatting in hand and am making the bundles for those who ordered the sets of 3 ebooks. There is even a very early start to the bonus scene, which I'm hoping will have echos of Wentworth's famous (and heartbreaking!) I am half-hope, half-agony letter.
With the war affecting oil prices, and therefore the cost of shipping, I went ahead and ordered and paid for the hardcovers this week. Ouch is all I will say on that matter! There will be an update when the books ship, but the printer in China advises it will be about 3 months before they land in the US.
I will be sending out surveys either today or tomorrow. A teeny batch has already gone out just to check everything is working as it should, and the remainder will follow. The survey is very important if you backed using an Apple ID, as I need an email address for digital rewards.

Kia ora my marvellous supporters,
We closed out having more than met my expectations and we unlocked: a ribbon bookmark, a bonus scene from Oliver's POV, a Clipper sticker, and watercolour versions of the part illustrations. I spent the weekend out in the garden recharging my batteries and then took myself off to see Wuthering Heights (I have opinions about that! lol)
What happens now? Kickstarter will endeavour to collect everyone's pledge. Unfortunately there are quite a number of errored pledges (which can happen for all sorts of reasons). I will be reaching out to those backers to see if we can get things fixed.
From here, I need to write the bonus scene, finish formatting the print books, get final drafts, and organise stickers and the other stretch goals. In many ways the end of a campaign means that start of the work. A survey will be sent out in the next few weeks to ensure we have the correct addresses for the physical rewards, and the best email address for the digital ones. I will keep you updated about what is happening behind the scenes as I have these books printed and delivered into your hands.
